Every woman knows the struggle with organising and cleaning her closet, no matter what season approaches. Today, we are here to present to you the best ways to organise and clean it when spring is just a minute away! It is probably the season when you wear most of your clothes. You need long sleeves, but also a few T-shirts and thin blouses. You need open shoes and closed ones. You mix tops with cardigans or thin jackets, so you have to be prepared to easily make an outfit in the last minute. Our tips will help you organise your closet the best way and you will be able to see everything you have!
The first step of our cleaning spree is to take everything out of the closet and put it on the bed to be able to see it. You might want to dust the shelves and make sure they are clean enough to store your clothes again. A little bit of cleaning in your closet never hurts. Perhaps you are one of those people who like to keep air-fresheners in there, so you are free to hang some!
After you are done with the superb cleaning you should start working on the pile of clothes you took out! Separate everything and organise it in different categories – pants, shirts, T-shirts, cardigans, sweatshirts and different types of tops. There is one pile you need to make, and that is the pile of clothes you haven’t wore soon or you never will. Make sure you have it, because as hard it is to let go of some clothing items, it sometimes is absolutely necessary. Women have the habit of holding on to stuff they don’t need, and you should change that for yourself! This category itself has subcategories – toss, keep and maybe. We know that everything is “maybe”, but you’re only lying to yourself here. Toss that old and discolored T-shirt and that pair of low-waist jeans, we both know you’re not going to wear them again! You can also ask a friend for help, they will give honest opinion about some of your clothes and it will be easier to decide whether to keep them or not.
The most important thing to remember is not to be sad because of the clothes you are tossing away. They are in the toss pile for a reason and they should stay there. Keep in mind that you need the clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident, fit you properly and make you feel good when you wear them. If something doesn’t fit you or the above mentioned, you should let go of it and you surely will find a better one pretty soon!
After you have arranged your clothes in categories, it’s time to put them back in the closet. You should choose your own organising system. Whether it is to separate work clothes from casual ones, or by how often you wear them – it doesn’t matter as long as it works for you! Arrange them by color – lighter to dark and it will be fare easier to find them instead of searching through everything every time.
Before you store your clothes back again, you should make sure you have the proper tools and helpers. Hanging everything makes your closet look way more cleaner and organised, so you probably want to have matching hangers. A little tip is to use felt hangers which will help your clothes stay in one place and not slip off. You should buy some boxes and baskets in which you can arrange your shoes, handbags or any other type of accessories. The other tool you can use are hooks. You can hang everything you want in there, you can even use them for hanging your outfit for the next day!
One more tip from us is to choose the best lighting for your closet. Light helps you see and find what you are looking for and creates a positive vibe flowing out of your closet!
Cleaning and re-organising your closet is not a hard thing when you know what to do. Follow our easy steps and you will get amazing results!
