INGREDIENTS
- 2 sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature, plus more for the pans
- 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for the pans
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk (or 3/4 cup heavy cream mixed with 1/2 cup water)
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter two 9-inch-round cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper; butter the parchment and dust the pans with flour, tapping out the excess.
- Whisk 3 cups flour, the baking powder and salt in a bowl until combined. Beat 2 sticks butter and the sugar in a large bowl with a mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Reduce the mixer speed to medium; beat in the eggs, one at a time, scraping down the bowl as needed. Beat in the vanilla. (The mixture may look separated at this point.) Beat in the flour mixture in 3 batches, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with flour, until just smooth.
- Divide the batter between the prepared pans. Bake until the cakes are lightly golden on top and a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes. Transfer to racks and let cool 10 minutes, then run a knife around the edge of the pans and turn the cakes out onto the racks to cool completely. Remove the parchment. Trim the tops of the cakes with a long serrated knife to make them level, if desired.
Happy Monday Everyone! Thanks you all for the Birthday wish. They meant a lot to me. Today I'm sharing with you all an easy cake recipe. My husband Ant is a photographer on the side and had a cake smashed shoot to do. So he decide to try to make a cake for the shoot. Therefor there has been a lot of cake baking happening at my house.
He find this easy cake recipe and started to make the cake. The cakes tasted amazing. His decorating skill on the other hand needs work but over all for being his first time decorating a cake he did a good job. For my birthday weekend last weekend. He made a sugar free cake for a friends BBQ. Which everyone love. He also made me a funfetti cake for my birthday. With pink and green frosting. To make the funfetti cake. Just add sprinkle to your cake mix.
Not only did I love this cake he made. Our neighbors enjoyed it as well. The cake was a hit. So can't wait for him to make another one.
Today marks 8 years of blogging for me. It so crazy to think that I started this little blog up 8 years ago. I started this blog up to showcase my daily outfits. Then my blog took a turn and I started to add more of my lifestyle in to. Last year I decide to take a 11 month break. Due to we just got 2 new puppies. After having the puppies for a month. I find out I was pregnant. Therefor blogging became to much for me to do.
It was nice taking that super long break but I'm so happy to be back and doing what I love. Even tho I know my outfits haven't been the greatest lately but it truly what I have been wearing. Thank you al for your wonderful support over the years and over these last couple of month.
